I spent years being told my symptoms were "normal." But I didn't feel normal.
I'm a woman and licensed healthcare provider. I have a doctorate degree. My provider experience spans all critical body systems. I knew the right language, I knew which questions to ask, and I still walked out of personal appointments feeling dismissed — handed a prescription for something I hadn't asked about, or told to come back if things got worse. If it was that hard for me, I kept thinking, what is it like for everyone else?
That's why Fine + Fettle Health exists.
Perimenopause and menopause affect nearly every system in the body — sleep, mood, memory, metabolism, joints, libido, heart, bones. Most women get about twelve minutes to explain all of it, to a provider who received very little training in any of it. So they're told it's stress. Or aging. Or that they should try to relax more. Meanwhile the years when real treatment does the most good pass by.
I can’t let that go. Not when it happens to me, and not when I watch it happen to the women in front of me. I've spent my career pushing back on it. I've been called persistent. I've been called a lot of things. I'd rather be vigilant on your behalf than polite while you go untreated.
Advocacy isn't a value I put on a website. It's what the appointment is actually made of. It means telling you what the research says and where it's genuinely uncertain, instead of hiding behind "we don't really know." It means saying no when a treatment isn't right for you and explaining why, even if you were hoping I'd say yes. It means writing down what we decided so you can bring it to any other provider and be taken seriously. And it means believing you the first time you tell me something is wrong.
I built this practice to work the way I always wished my own care had. Appointments are long enough to hear the whole story. Labs get reviewed with you, not sent to a portal without explanation. You see me at every visit — not whoever happens to be available — so nobody has to start over and re-explain their history. And if something isn't working between appointments, you can reach me. Members aren't charged extra for additional appointments or touch-points.
I hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Creighton University and I'm licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota. My focus is hormone therapy for perimenopause and menopause, and medically supervised weight management using GLP-1 medications — two things that overlap constantly in midlife and that too often get treated as separate problems by separate people.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and I'm a wife and a mother. I know what it's like to build a career, a household, and a family, while your own body has stopped feeling like yours — and to keep putting your own appointment off because everyone else's comes first. The women I take care of are usually the ones everybody else leans on. They deserve someone in their corner too.
You know your body. My job is to take that seriously and help you do something about it.
